Interviewing your wedding musicians
After you have selected your right wedding musician, you may want to compile a list of questions before you visit the band manager, in that way you will save both sides lots of time. Make a list of the names you want the wedding singer to announce. Make sure you have written enough detail, at least to let them know whether such and such a person is divorced, that will save yourself and them some embarrassment.

Since you are planning the whole wedding, you should know the exact timing of the whole event. Write it down in chronological order and discuss it with the wedding singer and the band manager. Listen to them and make some decisions as they have been doing this for some time, but be careful not to listen to all their advise as sometimes they just want their way to make their job easier.

Please specify to the wedding singer what kind of jokes you allow and don’t allow, some may get carried away. Tell them about the attire you expect them to wear. Do you allow them to smoke on stage? Be specific with your rules, after all it's your wedding day. It is always good to introduce the wedding singer to the banquet manager or wedding coordinator on the actual wedding day, it will help the coordination to run smoothly. Notify the banquet manager to serve the wedding musicians with food and drinks. Discuss with the wedding musicians where and how they will be placing their musical equipments.

In an indoor setup, it will be easier as the banquet manager will have a designated place for the band.

It will be some kind of a planning if you are hosting a wedding outdoors. There are some points to consider when you discuss it with your band manager, consider the power source. If you are placing the band away from the power source, how long will the cables run and how are they going to run? You will have to level the floor so the equipments can be set up correctly. What are the concerns the wedding musicians has? Tell them who is the one in-charge of the wedding, your Dad or you, you don't want your Dad to tell the wedding musicians to play one of his favorite tune till sunrise and you pay the overtime charges.
