Quick Bridal Tips 12

Selecting wedding cake
Gone are the days where wedding cakes have to be white or even a "cake" in the traditional sense. Here are some tips for selecting your wedding cakes:

1) Ingredients of your choice of wedding cakes is very important. Especially icing and decorations which are greatly affected by atmosphere and temperature conditions. You need to determine whether your wedding is held indoors or outdoors. Buttercream, for instance, might not hold up for several hours of exposure to really warm temperatures.

2) Do some research on your own with wedding magazines that are widely available in most bookstores before selecting wedding cake design. Bring along the pictures that you have selected before going down to your local bakery to view their portfolio. Chances are, they will be able to duplicate what you have requested with your pictures.

3) Your wedding cakes can reflect the style and personality of the bride and groom--it can be humorous, ornate, avant garde, traditional, simple, or of course, mirror the theme you've chosen for your wedding and reception.

4) Floral arrangements on wedding cakes in real flowers or sugar types are in trend now. Bride and bridegroom dolls on the wedding cakes top are disappearing in wedding cake shop soon.

5) Remember that your wedding cake is the centerpiece of your wedding reception. Take some time to review your choices. Allow 2-3 months to talk to your bakery, some bakery will only accept orders one per day.

6) Always discuss the pricing and the deposit to be made. And never forget to ask for cancellation terms.
